COMMUNICATION INTERFACE
The BMS of the battery pack has one external CAN bus communication port and one
external RS-485 communication port for closed loop communication. All inverters, when
set with proper voltage and current setpoints for charge and discharge, can be used with
our batteries. A list of inverters which can take advantage of closed loop communication
can be found in Appendix A.
Note: Closed loop communication is essential for long-term performance and is a
requirement of product registration and the extended warranty offered on the
S48-100LFP STACK-LV model.
CAN COMMUNICATION
The CAN bus port pinout is shown below. See Appendix A or S48-100LFP STACK-LV Inverter Compatibility for compatible inverters.
RS-485 COMMUNICATION
The RS-485 port pinout is below. See Appendix A for compatible inverters.
When connecting between batteries over RS-485, a standard network cable is used.
LINK UP AND LINK DOWN COMMUNICATION
Batteries should be connected to each other via a separate RS-485 interface, with ports
dubbed “LINK UP” and “LINK DOWN”.
